Hello,
My name is Pete Thomson and am writing this blog in a effort to find information about what happened to my brother David Bird Thomson.
I was born the middle child out of 7 children. Growing up we had a comfortable middle class home outside of Hopkins, MN. It was the edge of the suburbs at the time and there was lots of underdeveloped areas around us. We would play war in the woods with neighbors and Dave and his friends would use us as foot soldiers sending us off to be ambushed. I went to a Catholic School through 6 grade and transferred to public school in 7th grade. I think my mother had some sort of disagreement with the Catholic church. Both Dave and I played goalie and shared equipment. It was bad on days when we both played at the same time because we only had one nut cup. I attended Hopkins High School and graduated in 1971. High school was enjoyable the main reason to be there was to play hockey. During my junior year my parents took my younger sisters to Colorado for 3 months in December and left me home alone with the MG car. I could barely keep a straight face when they told me.

After school I was a hippie for a while just working enough to pay the rent in Minneapolis. I would see Dave once and a while when he would come home. Join a Judo club in Hopkins and did some competing. Started a auto repair business for a while. Went to Montana for a while but ran out of money and couldn't find work so I came back to Minnesota and started working in a machine shop. I married and started my own machine shop in early 80's. I have two grown children and a loving wife and am still machining parts.
